Rank and organization: Landsman, U.S. Navy. Born: 1874, Brooklyn, N.Y. Accredited to: New York.

Citation: Attached to the U.S.S. Maine, February 1897. Distinguishing himself, Creelman showed extraordinary heroism in the line of his profession during an attempt to save life at sea.
