Medal of Honor Recipient: Sergeant John P. Beech

Rank and organization: Sergeant, Company B, 4th New Jersey Infantry. Place and date: At Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va., 12 May 1864. Entered service at: Trenton, N.J. Born: 1 May 1844, England. Date of issue: 5 June 1894.

Citation: Voluntarily assisted in working the guns of a battery, all the members of which had been killed or wounded.
