Rank and organization: Chaplain, 16th New York Infantry. Place and date: At Salem Heights, Va., 3 May 1863. Entered service at: Plattsburgh, N.Y. Birth: ------. Date of issue: 16 February 1897.

Citation: Voluntarily exposed himself to a heavy fire during the thickest of the fight and carried wounded men to the rear for treatment and attendance.
