Medal of Honor Recipient: Landsman Thomas Mitchell

Rank and organization: Landsman, U.S. Navy. Born: 1857, New York, N.Y. Accredited to: New York. G.O. No.: 326, 18 October 1884.

Citation: Serving on board the U.S.S. Richmond, Mitchell rescued from drowning, M. F. Caulan, first class boy, serving with him on the same vessel, at Shanghai, China, 17 November 1879.
